Rajmachi Killa is always be the best place where you can spend your weekend time and off course in the lap of nature. The special feature of this fort is that it has two sub-forts namely Shrivardhan and Manranjan.

How to reach Rajmachi Fort

There are two ways to reach this historical fort of Maharashtra. One from Lonavala and other from Kondhane village which is located in Raigad district. Lonavala to Rajmachi Fort distance is 17km. You have to walk a steep climb up to Rajmachi, if you choose second way which is from Kondhane village. Using this route, almost all the vehicles will take you to base village from where you can start your adventurous trekking.

Rajmachi Killa is easy for trekking and an experienced trekker takes around two and half hours to reach top of the fort. It is generally recommended to stop anytime when you feel tired and then restart. Throughout this magnificent journey, have plenty of water and food/snacks with you. Please avoid dumping bottles and plastic bags on forts. Keep them with you and dump them only in trash cans.

Fort has a tunnel which can accommodate 2500 peoples. This tunnel was always used in case of emergency. You can see this tunnel only in summer days because during monsoons it is occupied with water which comes from the fort passage and in winter season it is not possible to go there due to the thick grass. Summer is the best time if you want to go there. You can take help of local people to get exact the location of this place.
